Facial Laser Hair Removal in Ho Chi Minh City: Smoother Upper Lip, Chin and Full Face
Upper lip and chin hair is the kind you see every morning in the mirror, and the kind other people notice when they talk to you up close. Tweezing stings and leaves bumps, shaving grows back by the next day, and waxing leaves the skin red for hours. On the face, every home method shows, because the skin here is thin and always on view.
This page covers the three facial areas Hugo Beauty works on: upper lip, chin and full face. If you want to see every area and price in one place, our laser hair removal in Ho Chi Minh City page has the full list. Here you will find the price for each facial area, how many sessions to expect, an honest note about fine and light-coloured hair, and how to care for your face afterwards.

Why Facial Hair Is Harder to Deal With at Home
Facial skin is thinner than the skin on your arms or legs, has many small blood vessels, and is exposed to sun, dust and makeup all day. Every time you pluck or shave, the skin is pulled or scraped, and the result shows right where everyone can see it: small bumps, ingrown hairs and dark dots around the follicles. Many clients come to Hugo Beauty not because they have a lot of hair, but because they are tired of checking their upper lip every day.
Laser works differently. The energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and weakens the follicle under the skin, with no pulling and no scraping of the surface. After a course, the hair is finer and sparser, and your skin finally gets a break from the daily routine.
Upper Lip, Chin or Full Face: Which One to Choose
The upper lip is the most popular choice, because the hair there is dark and shows when you speak. The chin suits clients with a few coarse hairs that keep coming back, often linked to hormones, and that get thicker the more you pluck them. Full face is for clients with noticeable hair on the cheeks and sideburns who want an even, smooth surface so makeup sits better.
If you are not sure, start with the upper lip. It is a small area, the lowest price on the list, and usually the first place where hair becomes visibly thinner. Once you know how it feels, you can add the chin or move to full face.

Which package to choose
- 1 session — try the upper lip first, or just tidy up before an event.
- 6 sessions — the main course for most women doing the upper lip or chin.
- 10 sessions — full face, thick hair, men's facial hair, or hormonal chin hair. Per session, this is the lowest price.
- Underarms + Upper lip combo — same price as the underarm package, with the upper lip included; good if you want both areas in one visit.
Fine and Light-Coloured Hair: An Honest Note Before You Book
Laser targets pigment. Dark, coarse upper-lip hair responds well. But the fine, soft "peach fuzz" on the cheeks, blonde or light brown hair, grey hair and very thin hair contain very little pigment, so the laser does not catch them well and results are not predictable. Many places do not mention this, and it is why some clients who had full-face sessions elsewhere felt disappointed.
At Hugo Beauty, Kieu looks at your actual hair during the consultation and tells you clearly before anything is done: which areas laser can work on, and which are fine hair where you should not expect much. We do not promise results on fine or light-coloured hair, and we will not suggest a full-face package if most of the hair on your face is this type.
How Many Sessions, and How Far Apart
Most clients need 6 to 10 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. Each session only affects the hairs that are in their growth phase; the rest are "resting" under the skin and come up over the following weeks, which is why the next session is needed. For chin hair linked to hormones, some clients need an occasional maintenance session after the course. Kieu will tell you this at the consultation rather than letting you find out later.
What a Facial Session Is Like
Your makeup is removed and the area is cleaned, you put on protective eyewear, and you lie back. The tip of the Diode Laser is cooled and stays in contact with the skin, taking away most of the heat at the surface. Most clients describe the feeling as warm with quick light snaps, a little sharper on the upper lip because the skin there is thin and close to the bone, and milder in later sessions as the hair thins out.
The energy level is set for your skin tone and hair thickness, and adjusted right away if any spot feels too strong. Every session is carried out in person by Kieu Pham, Founder · Aesthetic & Skincare Specialist at Hugo Beauty. Afterwards the skin is soothed and you can go straight back to your day, with no downtime.
Before your facial session
- Shave the area gently 12–24 hours beforeHair should be short, but not shaved right before you arrive, as facial skin stings easily.
- No plucking, waxing or hair-removal creamFor 4 weeks before the session. The laser needs the root to be in place under the skin.
- Pause retinol, AHA/BHA and exfoliantsFor 5–7 days before, so the skin is not thinner or more sensitive than usual.
- Avoid strong sun and self-tannerFor 2 weeks before. Arrive with a clean face and no makeup on the area.
Caring for Your Face After the Session
Facial skin reacts more visibly than other areas, so the few days after a session are when you need to be most careful. The area may look pink and feel warm for a few hours. That is normal.
No makeup on the area for the rest of the day; wash with cool water and a gentle cleanser.
Wear sunscreen every morning and cover up outdoors for the whole course. Saigon sun is the most common reason a freshly lasered area turns darker.
Pause retinol, AHA/BHA, exfoliants and brightening products on the area for 5–7 days.
Do not pluck at any point during the course. If hair grows back between sessions, shave gently or leave it; after 1–2 weeks some hairs will shed on their own.
General guidance for every area is on our aftercare page.
Who It Suits, and When to Wait
Facial laser hair removal suits clients with dark hair on the upper lip, chin or cheeks, including those with sensitive skin, since the energy is set lower and the skin is watched throughout. The studio welcomes both women and men.
Please wait if you are pregnant; if the area has active acne, broken or irritated skin; if you have had strong sun or used self-tanner in the last two weeks; if you have had a peel, microneedling or a facial laser in the last 2 weeks; or if you have recently plucked or waxed and the hair has not grown back yet.

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Laser Hair Removal
How much does upper lip laser hair removal cost in Ho Chi Minh City?
At Hugo Beauty, one upper-lip session is 150,000 VND, six sessions are 800,000 VND and ten sessions are 1,200,000 VND. The chin is the same price. Full face is 400,000 VND per session, 2,200,000 VND for six sessions and 3,200,000 VND for ten.
Will laser make my facial hair grow back thicker?
No. Laser weakens the follicle, so hair that grows back is usually finer and sparser. The "thicker" effect people notice comes from shaving, where the hair is cut straight across and the blunt end feels coarser, not from more hair.
Can you remove the fine hair on my cheeks?
Laser does not catch fine or light-coloured hair well because it has very little pigment. Kieu looks at your actual hair during the consultation and tells you before the session which areas can be worked on and which should not be expected to change much. We do not promise results on fine hair.
Can I wear makeup after the session?
It is best to let the skin rest until the next morning. On the day of the session, wash with cool water, use a gentle moisturiser, and wear sunscreen if you go outside.
Do you do facial laser hair removal for men?
Yes. The studio welcomes men for the upper lip, chin and cheeks at the same prices. Men's facial hair is usually thicker, so a course may run closer to 10 sessions, and you can keep a beard where you want it and only tidy the areas you choose.
