HIFU on a Lunch Break in Ho Chi Minh City: Can You Go Back to Work the Same Day?

The short answer: yes, most people go back to the office the same day. But one lunch hour is usually not enough. A HIFU visit, with the consultation, takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, and that is before you count the ride there and back. If you want to do it at lunch, plan for extra time, pick the end of the day, or split the consultation into its own short visit.

This guide is for people working in Ho Chi Minh City — Saigon — who want to fit a HIFU 10D MPT session into a normal work week. Hugo Beauty is a small studio at 38/14A Nguyen Van Troi, Cau Kieu Ward (formerly Phu Nhuan District), open 10:00–19:00 every day, including Saturday and Sunday.

How long a HIFU visit takes, and why one lunch hour is usually too short

The 1 to 1.5 hours covers a few steps: Kieu looks at your skin and checks the tissue, you agree on the areas and the shot count, the numbing cream sits on your skin, then comes the session itself, a quick clean-up and a few aftercare notes. The numbing cream needs its time to work, so this part is not something to rush.

Then add the ride back to your office. Lunch only works if your office is close and you have asked for about one extra hour. If not, the end of the working day or the weekend is much easier.

Three ways to fit it into a work week

  • Split it into two visits: come at lunch for a short consultation of about fifteen minutes (skin check, tissue check, the plan), then book the session on another day. Good if this is your first time and you want time to think.

  • Take a longer lunch: if you have already sent photos on WhatsApp and agreed on a plan, the consultation and the session can happen in one visit — as long as there is a free slot long enough that day.

  • After work or at the weekend: the most relaxed option. You go home after, and you are back at your desk the next morning.

Free slots change from day to day, so message us on WhatsApp before you ask your manager. Our page on how to book a HIFU consultation in Ho Chi Minh City has a short message you can copy.

Back at your desk: will your colleagues notice?

Most likely not. Right after the session your face may look a little pink, and the jaw or cheeks may feel slightly tender when you press them. This usually settles within a day or two. There are no marks and no bandages.

To be honest, nobody will say you look younger that afternoon either. In weeks one and two there is usually nothing to see. The clearest change comes around weeks 8 to 12, so it happens slowly and looks natural.

An afternoon in an air-conditioned office

Coming from the hot street into a cold, dry office can make your skin feel tight and look a little dull. That is the dry air, not the session. Use your usual moisturiser and drink enough water.

Please do not take selfies under the office ceiling light to check your result. Ceiling light makes shadows under the chin. If you want to compare, take photos in the morning, next to a window, from the same angles.

Video calls and makeup

Video calls the same afternoon are fine. If your skin is still a little pink, sit facing soft, even light.

Makeup can go back on the next morning if the redness is gone. Use clean fingers or a clean sponge instead of rubbing with a brush, and remove it gently in the evening. If you have an important meeting that afternoon and you need makeup, choose another day for your session. Keep using sunscreen every day.

After work: a few things people forget

  • Gym after work: light exercise after 24 hours, hard training after 48 hours.

  • Drinks with colleagues: keep alcohol low for the first 48 hours.

  • Sauna, steam room or a hot bath: wait the full 72 hours.

If you have a company party, a photo day or an event where you want to look your best, count back 8 to 12 weeks from that date. Thinking about face and neck in one visit? Our full-face and neck HIFU page explains what that visit looks like.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get HIFU done in a one-hour lunch break?

Usually not. The visit with the consultation takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, before travel time. Ask for extra time, choose the end of the day, or come for a short consultation at lunch and book the session for another day.

Can I go back to work right after HIFU?

Yes. Your face may look a little pink or feel slightly tender around the jaw and cheeks, and this usually settles within a day or two. There are no marks and no bandages.

Will my colleagues see that I had HIFU?

Most people will not notice. The change builds slowly and is clearest around weeks 8 to 12, so it looks natural.

Can I wear makeup to work the next day?

Yes, from the next morning if the redness is gone. Use clean fingers or a clean sponge, avoid rubbing with a brush, and remove it gently at night.

Is Hugo Beauty open after work and at weekends?

Yes. The studio is open 10:00–19:00 every day, including Saturday and Sunday. Free slots change from day to day, so message us on WhatsApp first.
