Forehead HIFU for Men: Deeper Lines, Thicker Skin, Real Expectations

Most men do not think about their forehead until one day a photo shows three deep lines they did not notice before. Or someone asks, "Are you stressed?" when they feel fine. The forehead is often the first place where a man's face starts to look tired or older.

This guide is for men who are thinking about forehead HIFU. We explain why male forehead lines behave differently, which daily habits in Ho Chi Minh City make them deeper, and what you can honestly expect from HIFU.

Why men's forehead lines look deeper

Male skin is usually thicker than female skin, with more oil. Thick skin sounds like a good thing, and in some ways it is. It often shows fine crepey lines later. But when a line does set in, it tends to look like a deeper groove, not a soft crease.

Men also tend to have a stronger forehead muscle and use it more. Many men speak with their eyebrows: raising them to make a point, frowning when they think. Each movement folds the skin in the same place, thousands of times a day.

And many men start skincare late, or never. No sunscreen, no moisturiser, washing the face with body soap. Over 10 to 15 years, the skin loses firmness, and the lines that used to disappear at rest start to stay. As we say in our article on HIFU for men, thick male forehead skin imprints static lines early.

Daily habits that make forehead lines deeper

None of these habits causes lines alone. Together, over years, they add up.

Sun without protection. Riding a motorbike at noon, standing outside for work, playing football or golf in the afternoon. Sun breaks down collagen, and the forehead gets more sun than almost any other part of the face.

Squinting and frowning. Bright light, a phone screen at full brightness, long hours at a computer. Squinting pulls the brows together and down; the forehead then lifts again. It is a small workout, all day.

The helmet habit. Many riders push the helmet up so the front edge rests on the forehead, then raise their brows to see under it. Others ride with the visor open and squint against wind and dust. Sweat under the helmet, then wiping the forehead hard with a sleeve, adds more friction.

Little sleep and a lot of stress. Many men carry tension in the forehead. You can check this: at the end of a long day, touch your forehead. Is it relaxed, or tight?

Two kinds of forehead lines, and which one HIFU helps

Stand in front of a mirror and relax your face. If you still see lines across your forehead, these are static lines: the skin has already taken the shape of the fold. Then raise your brows. Lines that only show now are dynamic lines, made by the muscle moving. We explain this in more detail in the ten-second mirror check for forehead lines.

HIFU works on the skin, not the muscle. It makes small heat points in the dermis so the skin builds new collagen and becomes firmer. On the forehead, only shallow 1.5–2.0 mm cartridges are used. Firmer skin means static lines look softer and the forehead looks smoother under light. Dynamic lines will still appear when you raise your brows. Botox works on the muscle and is the usual comparison for movement lines; HIFU does not do that job. The table below shows it clearly.

Results differ from person to person. These are what we often see, not a promise.

What to expect from forehead HIFU as a man

Most men want a change that nobody can name. Not "What did you do?", but "You look rested." Forehead HIFU fits that goal well, because the change is slow and natural.

Thicker skin does not mean HIFU does not work for men. It means we plan the forehead carefully: we check how deep the lines are, how thick the skin feels, and where the brow sits. The forehead session uses the same 200–250 shots as for women, and the price is the same too: 1,000,000–1,500,000 VND for forehead HIFU at Hugo Beauty.

The forehead and brow are more sensitive than the cheek because thin skin sits directly over bone — clients typically rate it 4–6 out of 10, against 2–4 on the cheek. Each shot is a brief hot prickle, not a lasting ache.

Afterwards: mild redness for an hour or two, possibly slight swelling under the brow for one to three days, occasionally a few days of mild numbness on the forehead. No downtime; makeup from the next day. For most men, that simply means you can go back to work the same afternoon.

When you will see a difference

Right after the session and for the first 1–2 weeks, the skin feels slightly tighter as old collagen contracts; the real result builds gradually over the following 8–12 weeks as new collagen forms. The result is clearest at month 2–3, once the new collagen has formed. One session typically holds for 12–18 months and then fades gradually with age and skincare habits.

Take a photo of your forehead at rest, in daylight, before the session. Take another at month 2–3 in the same place. Men often do not notice slow changes in the mirror, but they notice them in photos.

Who should do it, and who should wait

Forehead HIFU suits men who have static lines at rest, a forehead that looks tired or rough, or brows that have dropped a little. It also suits men who already did the jawline or the full face and want the upper face to match. If you are thinking about the whole face, see full-face HIFU for men.

Please wait if your main concern is only the lines when you raise your brows, if the forehead skin has active acne, inflammation or a wound, or if you had filler in the temples less than 4 weeks ago. Very deep grooves will soften, but they will not disappear after one session.

Small habits that protect the result

You do not need a ten-step routine. Three things help the most: sunscreen on the forehead every morning, a gentle face wash instead of body soap, and a light moisturiser at night. When you ride, wear the helmet properly instead of pushing it up onto your forehead, and use sunglasses to stop squinting.

Frequently asked questions

Does HIFU work on thick male skin?

Yes. Thicker skin does not stop HIFU from working. We check the depth of your lines and the thickness of your skin first, and plan the forehead with shallow 1.5–2.0 mm cartridges.

Will HIFU remove my deep forehead lines?

It can make them look softer, but deep grooves will not disappear after one session. HIFU firms the skin; it does not stop the lines that appear when you raise your brows.

Is forehead HIFU more expensive for men?

No. Forehead HIFU at Hugo Beauty is 200–250 shots, 1,000,000–1,500,000 VND, for men and women. We tell you the price before starting.

Can I go back to work after forehead HIFU?

Yes. You may have mild redness for an hour or two and slight swelling under the brow for a few days, but no downtime is needed.

HIFU or Botox for men's forehead lines?

They do different jobs. HIFU firms the skin, which helps lines that stay when your face is relaxed. Botox works on the muscle, which is linked to lines that appear only when you move.
