Your wedding is two weeks away — or the pre-wedding photo shoot in Saigon you booked months ago, or a big event you have been waiting all year for. It is tempting to do everything: a mask every night, a new serum, a strong peel to “clean things up”. I understand, but too much in the last two weeks is exactly what causes breakouts and redness on the big day.
Fourteen days is just enough time for skin to settle and glow, if you do things in the right order. Below is the day-by-day checklist I send to brides and grooms, with the best day for a Laser Glow Facial and how to protect your skin during an outdoor shoot under Vietnam’s strong sun.
Why 14 days is the right amount of time
Two weeks is enough to drop the habits that irritate your skin, enough for it to get used to a simple routine again, and enough to fit one studio visit in at the right moment. Your skin then has a few calm days before the big one, with nothing new to surprise it.
But 14 days can’t do everything. Deeper changes, like firmer skin or a more defined jawline, take months. If you still have 2–3 months, HIFU face lifting is worth planning early. With two weeks left, we focus on the surface: bright, even, plump skin.
The three mistakes I see most often: a peel in the final week, switching to a brand-new whitening or brightening cream, and a hen party or bachelorette weekend on the beach in Vung Tau or Phu Quoc without proper sun protection. All three tend to show up exactly when you least want them to. Avoid those three and you are already halfway there — the rest of this plan is about keeping things calm and simple.
Days 14 to 10: keep your skin steady
Lock in a simple routine: gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, moisturiser, sunscreen. Anything extra should be something you have used for at least a month.
No new products: gifts and sale finds can wait until after the wedding.
Take sun protection seriously: every day, and re-apply when you are out for long. A tan now will not fade in time.
No waxing, threading or laser hair removal on the face if you plan a Laser Glow in the next two weeks — and tell me if you have had any in the last 6 weeks.
Book your Laser Glow now, especially for weekends and during wedding season.
Days 9 to 6: clear the way
Stop peels and strong exfoliation. If you like, use a gentle exfoliant one last time on day 9.
Retinol: if your skin is used to it, you can keep going until about day 6, then pause until after the laser. If you have never used it, don’t start now.
Make-up trial: do a trial with your make-up artist to see how the base sits on your skin.
Sleep and water: try to sleep before midnight, and go easy on alcohol and very salty dinners.
If you are breaking out, don’t squeeze. Send me a photo on WhatsApp and I will tell you whether we should move your booking.
Days 5 to 3: the best time for your Laser Glow
This is the window I like best for a Laser Glow Facial before your wedding. Your skin looks brighter and smoother as you walk out, the plump look lasts a few weeks, so on the big day it is still at its best.
Why not the day before? A few days give you a buffer: if your skin is a little pink or needs extra care, there is still time. And if you have an outdoor shoot, you need 24–48 hours after the laser before long hours in the sun.
If your dress or áo dài shows the neck and shoulders, choose face + neck so both areas match in tone. Afterwards, follow the first 48 hours after a Laser Glow Facial.
Day 2, day 1 and the big day
Day 2: nothing new. A familiar hydrating mask is fine. Eat light, drink water, sleep early.
Day 1: gentle cleanse, generous moisturiser, an extra pillow so your eyes are less puffy in the morning. No squeezing, no scrubs, no sitting in the sun.
The big day: cool water, hydrating serum, a thin moisturiser, sunscreen — then let your make-up artist do the rest. Pack a small sunscreen or an SPF cushion to touch up between outdoor shots.
A small tip for photos: well-hydrated skin with a thin, satin base looks more natural on camera than a thick matte layer, especially in Saigon’s humidity, where heavy powder can turn patchy by midday. If your shoot starts at sunrise, get up 15 minutes earlier so your moisturiser has time to sink in before make-up. And keep blotting papers in your bag rather than adding more powder.
For grooms, family and destination weddings
Grooms get close-up shots too. The same 14-day plan works; just tell me if you want to keep your beard or eyebrows exactly as they are, so the laser goes around them.
If the mother of the bride or bridesmaids want to come too, let me know early so I can book you back to back. I work alone, one person at a time, so early booking means better times.
Flying in for a destination wedding or a pre-wedding shoot in Saigon? Plan to land at least 3–4 days before the shoot, rest one night after the flight, and book the Laser Glow for your second or third day here.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have the Laser Glow the day before my wedding?
You can, because there is no visible downtime. But I suggest 3–5 days before to give yourself a buffer, especially if you have an outdoor shoot or your skin turns pink easily.
My wedding is only 3–4 days away. Is it too late?
Not for brightness and a plump, fresh look. Skip the long preparation, keep your routine simple, book the Laser Glow as soon as you can, and don’t try anything new.
We have a full-day outdoor photo shoot. What should I watch out for?
Book the laser at least 2–3 days before the shoot. On the day, wear sunscreen under your make-up, touch up with an SPF cushion, and stand in the shade or under an umbrella between shots.
I have a few spots right now. Can I still come?
Usually yes, but send me a photo first. If a breakout is very inflamed, I will tell you honestly whether to go ahead or wait a few days for your skin to calm down.
Wedding or photo shoot coming up?
Send me your wedding and shoot dates on WhatsApp, and I will suggest the best day for your Laser Glow.
